Who needs a vignette?
Every vehicle up to 3.5 t on motorways and expressways — cars, campervans up to 3.5 t, motorcycles. The obligation applies from the first slip road, even in pure transit to Italy, Slovenia or Hungary. Campervans above 3.5 t pay the distance-based toll (GO-Box) instead.

Where it is valid — and where not
On the entire motorway and expressway network. Special toll sections are excluded: Brenner (A13), Tauern (A10), Arlberg (S16), Karawanken (A11), Gleinalm and Bosruck (A9). Those are paid separately at the toll station; the Brenner section toll can be added to your order here.
Toll-free sections
Some sections near the border are vignette-free and signposted. If you only drive to Salzburg, Kufstein or Bregenz you can do without — from the next junction on you cannot.

Border crossings — where the obligation starts
The vignette must be registered when you pass the first tolled junction. Order before the border, not on the hard shoulder.

- Kiefersfelden: A93 → A12 Inntal
- Suben: A3 → A8 Innkreis
- Hörbranz: A96 → A14 Rheintal
Digital instead of a sticker
Since 2018 there is a digital vignette: linked to the plate, checked by camera, nothing on the windscreen. Practical for rental cars, interchangeable plates and after a windscreen replacement. The sticker still exists at petrol stations — online, digital is the only option.
Valid from when — the three counting rules
The 10-day vignette counts the start day: valid from 10 January means valid until 19 January, 23:59. The 1-day vignette covers the calendar day, not 24 hours. The 2-month vignette runs calendar months, not 60 days. We show the end date before you pay.
The 18-day rule — annual vignette only
Because of the statutory withdrawal right, an annual vignette bought online only becomes valid 18 days after purchase. 1-day, 10-day and 2-month vignettes are valid from the chosen start date — immediately if you wish. For a spontaneous trip they are the right choice; plan the annual vignette two and a half weeks ahead.
Enforcement and fines
Checks are automatic by camera and by the operator’s mobile teams; foreign plates are captured just the same. Without a valid vignette a replacement toll is due, many times the price of any vignette (amount: see info card). Those who do not pay on the spot face administrative proceedings.
Common mistakes — and how we catch them
Most problems arise before the purchase. That is why we check the plate format, show it in large type before payment and flag special tolls right on the product page.

Ofte stillede spørgsmål
Is the vignette valid immediately?
It is valid from the start date you choose — even today. Registration with the operator usually takes up to 15 minutes; drive onto the motorway only after the confirmation. Exception: the annual vignette, valid from the 18th day after purchase.
Why buy here and not from the operator?
The vignette is the same and ends up in the same database. Here you order in your language, the plate is checked, and you have a contact by email. We link the operator’s shop in the info card.
Are Brenner, Tauern or Arlberg included?
No — those are special toll sections with their own fee. The Brenner section toll can be ordered here in addition; the others are paid at the toll station.
What does driving without a vignette cost?
A replacement toll far above the price of any vignette (amount: see info card), and administrative proceedings if unpaid. Enforcement is by camera.
I mistyped my plate — what now?
Write to us immediately with your order number. As long as the vignette has not been registered with the operator, we correct it free of charge. Afterwards it is bound to the plate and cannot be changed.
Do motorcycles need a vignette?
Yes, at their own, lower rate — see the price table.
Campervan, trailer, interchangeable plates?
Campervans up to 3.5 t need the car vignette, above that the GO toll. Trailers need no vignette of their own. With interchangeable plates the vignette is valid for the plate, not a specific vehicle.
How do I pay?
Credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay. The total price incl. VAT is fixed before payment.
Do I get an invoice?
Yes, the invoice is attached to the confirmation email.
The confirmation email has not arrived.
Check your spam folder. If nothing has arrived after 30 minutes, write to us with order number and plate — we will resend the confirmation.
Umlauts and special characters in the plate?
Enter the plate exactly as on the vehicle — with umlauts. Hyphens and spaces may be omitted; we normalise the input.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Before registration with the operator: yes, in full. Afterwards the vignette is valid and a refund is no longer possible — you expressly agree to this before payment (Section 356 BGB). Details on the “Refunds & cancellation” page.
