Tolls and the vignette in Slovenia
How the Slovenian vignette works
The local term is e-vinjeta. Since the switch to the digital system it is tied to the plate and no stickers are issued. Cameras and mobile teams handle enforcement.
Vehicle classes — watch out with campervans
Vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes are split into two classes by the height measured above the front axle, with motorcycles in a class of their own. Tall vans and campervans often fall into the more expensive class — measure yours if in doubt before ordering.
Arriving through the Karawanken tunnel
Coming from Austria through the Karawanken tunnel means paying an Austrian section toll there. It does not replace the Slovenian vignette — you need both. Details are in the guide section tolls in Austria.
Periods and prices
A crossing towards Croatia is usually covered by the 7-day vignette. Every period with its breakdown is listed on the Slovenia country page.
