Tolls and the vignette in Czechia
How the Czech vignette works
The local term is dálniční známka, also e-známka. Since the switch to the digital system there is no sticker: the plate and country of registration are stored instead, and enforcement runs through cameras and mobile teams.
Who needs it and where it applies
Vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes on motorways. Heavier vehicles use a separate electronic tolling scheme rather than a vignette. A few sections, mostly bypasses around larger cities, are exempt; the operator publishes the list.
Periods and prices
Short periods are offered for transit and longer ones for stays. What we arrange and what it costs is listed on the Czechia country page; a run south is usually covered by the 10-day vignette.
If the vignette is missing
Checks are automatic and notices are served to keepers abroad as well. How digital enforcement works technically is explained in the guide the digital vignette.
